Elections:         Several board member terms are set to expire this summer. We are in need of board members to help continue the mission and vision of our wonderful club. Pickleball skills are irrelevant here! If you have the skills, passion, and desire to help keep this club moving forward, please consider giving some of your time as a board member. Interested persons should submit a brief bio including details of any relevant organizational and leadership skills to Secretary/Treasurer Cheryl Dix at cdix@bendpickleballclub.com.  A slate of candidates will be announced at the next general meeting, which will happen around the end of July.

Monday Drop In play: Due to lack of interest, the Monday Mens 4.0+ RR session has been removed from the schedule. This time slot is open for Drop In play. We need volunteer captains to organize these sessions and manage the equipment. Please contact Mike LeRoy if you are available to assist.

2.5MX & 3.0MX Coed Skills & Drills: BPC is always looking for ways to help develop players, particularly those who are new to the sport. Under the direction of Irene Fraties, a Skills & Drills session was put together to run during the 2.5 & 3.0 Coed Mix session on Monday mornings. Irene gathered a group of volunteers to assist by providing supervised drills during the first hour of the session. In the second hour, the players participate in round robin play where they utilize the skills they practiced in the first hour. The sessions have been very well received. To provide equal opportunity to all players, future sessions will be limited to 10 participants and each participant may only sign up every other week. We want to especially thank the volunteers who are providing their time and energy to make this happen: Linda Parker, Tom Hart, Terry Schwab, Bill Brown, Linday Gillard, Jack Beye, Jeannie Brannin, Michael Mineni, Kary Schoessler, Georgie Scott, Terry Brown, Tom Sifferman, and Christy Hunter. Please note that there will be no Skills & Drills on July 4.

Clinics:  There are several upcoming clinics:

Lisa Palcic is offering a number of clinics for all skill levels through Bend Parks & Rec. A complete listing is available, along with links and sign up instructions, at the BPC website under the Clinics>Player Development tabs.

Steve Paranto/Tony Tollenaar Clinics: Steve and Tony were here last year and did a terrific job with their clinics. They have 3 days of clinics for all skill levels scheduled from July 26 through 28. More info and signups are available at the BPC SignUp Genius pages.

August Tournament: The USAPA Pacific Northwest Regional Big Country RV Bend Pickleball Club Tournament is scheduled for August 12-14 and is now full. In the coming days we will be seeking volunteers to help run this event. As always, we appreciate the support of our tremendous volunteers!

Calcutta Tournament: Lisa Palcic and Christie Gestvang are organizing a Calcutta Tournament for September 9 & 10. This is going to be a really fun and exciting tournament with a dinner catered by JDubs. Watch for an upcoming announcement with details and signup information.

Redmond Pickleball Club:  The Redmond Pickleball Club worked with the City of Redmond to build 8 beautiful outdoor courts at Sam Johnson Park. A ribbon cutting for the new courts was held on June 15 and was attended by about 100 people. For more information on the club and play in Redmond, visit their new website at www.redmond.pickleball.biz. Congratulations to everyone involved, and especially MaryAnn Steele and Mel Hatton who led the effort.
