New Board Members
In order to better serve the needs of our rapidly growing club, and to foster the continued growth of pickleball in Central Oregon, the Board of Directors recently determined we must expand the Board. 3 new positions were created: Communications, Courts Use, and Training and Development. At the same time, President Mike Holcomb, who is leaving Bend for a career opportunity later this summer, has resigned as President. We sincerely thank Mike for his leadership and dedication to the Club, wish him the best in his family’s new opportunities, and hope he will visit us often in the future!
Because of these changes, at the June 12, 2014 General Meeting, 3 new board members were elected by the club membership to fill newly the created board positions, and A.J. Fraties was elected to a new 2-year term as President. Les Scott is relinquishing his role as Vice President but remains on the board as Courts Facilitator. The new board positions and their newly elected incumbents are:
Courts Use Director – Werner Zehnder
Vice President & Communications Director – Kirk Foster
Training and Development Director – Irene Fraties
These are exciting times for pickleball in Central Oregon and your Board of Directors will be acting to expand opportunities and guide the growth of the club and sport in our communities!
