Summer Play Schedule:
Spring has sprung (allegedly) and the snowbirds are already trickling back to Bend. The CUG is conducting a survey to determine courts needs for summer play, which should begin around the first of May. If you haven’t already completed a survey, please take a few minutes to do so. Indoor Play:
Indoor Play at B&GC: Indoor play will continue through April as long as we still have sufficient numbers to fill sessions. Check the SignUp Genius pages for information.
Referee Training:
Referees are desperately needed for the upcoming tournaments. Irene Fraties has scheduled a Referee Training and Certification clinic for May 10 and 11. Paddle Donation:
The management of the Boys & Girls Club at B&GC asked if we could help them get pickleball going as an activity for the kids there. We acquired and donated 24 new wooden paddles to help get them going.

Hello All,
I’m sure by now most of you have heard the sad news about the passing of my business partner Sabrina. She lost a long battle to Cancer on Feb. 14th. Due to this loss, I will be closing The Racquet Shoppe down at the end of March. I would like to say Thank You to all of you that supported us in our 9 great years of business.
I will be moving into a full time teaching career in pickleball. Teaching for Bend, Redmond, and LaPine Parks and Rec as well as for The Athletic Club of Bend and Sage Springs Club and Spa. I will soon have a personal teaching website that will post all of these clinic/lesson schedules. As soon as it is up I will send you all a link.
Please be assured you will be taken care of by the new racquet shop opening in April. They will be taking over our location at 55 NW Wall St. The new shop is called Players Racquet Shop. The owner Brian is very eager to open his 3rd location here in Bend. I will be working with him through his transition into the community and will be guiding him on pickleball inventory. You will see me in the shop helping out from time to time, And definitely out on the pickleball courts! They will continue to stock paddles, shoes, balls and more.
Please stop in the shop before March 30th, as I a have HUGE Clearance sale going on. All inventory is up to 40-75% off!!!!
