In Memory of Werner Zehnder

In Memory of Werner Zehnder
1949-2025

Werner Zehnder passed away peacefully at home on September 5.

His passing leaves a hole in our hearts and our community. Werner gave of his time, energy, and resources to create environments where people could get together and enjoy socializing and engaging in physical and mental activity. In doing so, he contributed to the health and well-being of the many pickleball enthusiasts who live in and visit the area. He was a great friend and a visionary leader with charm, charisma, and a terrific sense of humor. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy with his many contributions to Bend Pickleball Club and the community. His spirit will remain with us as we enjoy the fruits of his efforts. Rest in peace, Werner.

We will keep you apprised of any plans for services.

Kirk Foster, President

Werner was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I knew him first through our joint efforts in the initial building of the BPC. He was kind, generous with his time and resources, cultured, creative as any two normal people, a darn good pickleball player and as others have mentioned funny as heck. He helped me through some of my own struggles and seemed to delight in finding me annoying, and took great efforts to annoy me back, which often made my day. He was an amazing man - and I will miss him. God bless you, Werner, and thank you.
