In Memory of Werner Zehnder

In Memory of Werner Zehnder
1949-2025

Werner Zehnder passed away peacefully at home on September 5.

His passing leaves a hole in our hearts and our community. Werner gave of his time, energy, and resources to create environments where people could get together and enjoy socializing and engaging in physical and mental activity. In doing so, he contributed to the health and well-being of the many pickleball enthusiasts who live in and visit the area. He was a great friend and a visionary leader with charm, charisma, and a terrific sense of humor. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy with his many contributions to Bend Pickleball Club and the community. His spirit will remain with us as we enjoy the fruits of his efforts. Rest in peace, Werner.

We will keep you apprised of any plans for services.

Kirk Foster, President
Bend Pickleball Club

I had the pleasure of teaching Werner how to play pickleball way back before we had any courts at Pine Nursery and we were still putting up temporary nets wherever we could find a space. He was a natural athlete so learned quickly and immediately became a dedicated fan of the game. He was always a pleasure to play with, a fun competitor and a very gracious gentleman, always willing to pitch in when help was needed. He was one of the best!
