In Memory of Werner Zehnder

In Memory of Werner Zehnder
1949-2025

Werner Zehnder passed away peacefully at home on September 5.

His passing leaves a hole in our hearts and our community. Werner gave of his time, energy, and resources to create environments where people could get together and enjoy socializing and engaging in physical and mental activity. In doing so, he contributed to the health and well-being of the many pickleball enthusiasts who live in and visit the area. He was a great friend and a visionary leader with charm, charisma, and a terrific sense of humor. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy with his many contributions to Bend Pickleball Club and the community. His spirit will remain with us as we enjoy the fruits of his efforts. Rest in peace, Werner.

We will keep you apprised of any plans for services.

Kirk Foster, President
Bend Pickleball Club

Some things are difficult to express with mere words, because Werner was such a BIG personality. He really changed my life when I started playing pickleball because is pretty much the most important thing in my life, recreationally speaking and I just don't know what I Would do without it now. I think he knew nearly every member of the Zone and Bend PB club and made us feel like we were very important in the workings of the PB community. he had a joy for the sport and for all people whether they knew ball or not. I will miss his joyful smile.
