In Memory of Werner Zehnder
1949-2025

Werner Zehnder passed away peacefully at home on September 5.

His passing leaves a hole in our hearts and our community. Werner gave of his time, energy, and resources to create environments where people could get together and enjoy socializing and engaging in physical and mental activity. In doing so, he contributed to the health and well-being of the many pickleball enthusiasts who live in and visit the area. He was a great friend and a visionary leader with charm, charisma, and a terrific sense of humor. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy with his many contributions to Bend Pickleball Club and the community. His spirit will remain with us as we enjoy the fruits of his efforts. Rest in peace, Werner.

Werner was my friend! We started playing before the Bend Club was established! We played many tournaments together in Bend and in Palm Desert. We helped each other create more courts in our communities (PGA West) & (Deep Canyon Tennis Club) and many more. I miss him...with all my heart! Susan... My heart goes out to you! I'm here for you!
