Pickleball Zone to sponsor 2017 USAPA PNW Regional Pickleball tournament.
Bend Pickleball Club is pleased to announce that Pickleball Zone Bend has signed on to sponsor the 2017 USAPA Pacific Northwest Regional Pickleball tournament. The tournament has been an annual event of the Bend Pickleball Club since 2012. This year the tournament will also host the Professional Pickleball Federation Pro Tour, bringing professional pickleball players to Bend to compete for more than $15,000. in prize money. The 2017 tournament will be held August 10-13 at Pine Nursery Park. Pickleball Zone Bend is part of Cascade Indoor Sports family and is building an 8 court indoor pickleball facility in Bend. Werner Zehnder Co-Owner of Pickleball Zone Bend said: “Bend Pickleballers are fortunate to have 16 great outdoor courts at Pine Nursery, but there is a lack of good indoor facilities in Bend. Players will have an opportunity in the near future to play year round on state-of-the-art indoor courts. Pickleball Zone Bend is excited to be a part of this wonderful tournament and the continued growth of pickleball in the central Oregon region”. The 48,500 square feet dual-sport facility will house a Trampoline Zone on the ground floor and the Pickleball Zone on the second floor. The new facility is expected to open in late 2017 and in addition to the 8 dedicated courts will also have a 3rd floor viewing area and lounge with other amenities.
